"Ark H have been supporting Keech hospice since 2006. Alongside their staff fundraising and recycling with us, they have donated hundreds of items that are essential in helping us in our events and fundraising activities. Their support has been wonderful and highly valued and we look forward to a continued relationship with them in the future."
Keech Hospice Care provides specialist palliative care for children diagnosed with life-limiting conditions and their families across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
Paul Sutherland, Corporate Fundraiser, Keech Hospice Care.
Care at the hospice focuses on helping children to enjoy the best quality of life possible - controlling their pain and other symptoms; offering emotional and practical support; providing suitable treatments and therapies including complementary therapy, music and hydrotherapy and, when the time comes providing the best care to ensure a comfortable and dignified death.
When a child is seriously ill, family and friends can all be affected too. Keech Hospice Care is there to support them as much as they need throughout the child’s illness and in their bereavement. As well as 1-1 support, Keech also runs peer support groups for patients, parents and siblings.
The hospice has in-patient and day care facilities designed to meet the varying ages and individual needs of each child and, recognising that families with life-limited children often prefer to care for their child at home, the children’s community nursing team helps them do this.
All of the charity’s services are offered free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
